Saying Goodbye to Loneliness: Unveiling Our New Counselling Tools
In recent months, many Teen’s Key girls have told us they are becoming more aware of their emotions. We have long observed that our girls often carry a lot of unspoken knots. Everyday moments—being rejected by others, a partner not replying to messages—can pile up into deep frustration. Even when the pain feels overwhelming, many can only reach for vague words like “annoyed,” “irritated,” or “I want to die,” without being able to name what they truly feel. Without timely support, these feelings can build until they erupt.

We know these girls desperately need to be seen, heard, and held. That is why we have recently introduced two new counselling tools: the Feeling Wheel and the Super Angry Record Book. After using the Feeling Wheel, one girl realized, “I am not only angry. I felt deeply wronged while talking with my family.” The Super Angry Record Book also creates a safe space where girls can express themselves without judgment, reflect through writing, understand their personal limits, and build healthy boundaries. When they look back, they may notice certain triggers appearing again and again. This not only helps them strengthen their self‑awareness, but also enables our social workers and counsellors to identify the underlying psychological patterns. May Teen’s Key’s counselling tree hole continue to hold the heartfelt stories of every young woman.
