Finding the True Recipe for Self-Love

On the eve of Valentine’s Day, Mary, a member of our Young Mothers Club, shared a special message through the “Solo Sweet” event she organized: “You do not need a partner to celebrate Valentine’s Day. You deserve to be the best version of yourself, with or without a significant other.”
That evening, our Service Hub’s table was filled with fresh fruits. The girls whipped cream and created cakes reflecting their unique personalities. Every participant received a gift for herself: a hand-decorated cake and a self-written affirmation card.

Mary hoped the event would encourage self-appreciation. Writing the affirmation card was her thoughtful touch: “When facing future difficulties, they can look back at these words as a gentle reminder to care for their well-being.”
The event also led Mary to redefine self-care. She used to associate it with spending money on material possessions. However, seeing the participants’ genuine fulfillment from simply decorating a cake changed her perspective. “Treating yourself well is simpler than we imagine,” she reflected. “Doing something that brings you comfort and fulfills your emotional needs is enough. Compared to the fleeting happiness bought with material things, true emotional fulfillment is far more precious.”
