Grounding Gender Issues in Everyday Life: Moving Beyond the Echo Chamber

Our latest venture in sexuality education—a public series of 12 Community Workshops—has officially come to a successful close! 

In recent years, gender discussions online have tended to be either fragmented or overly complex. Yet gender issues are closely connected to everyday life. In response, we are creating a space that welcomes diverse perspectives and focuses on practical, everyday conversations. Since August 2024, using pop culture, trending topics, and common myths as our entry points, we invited guest speakers from various fields to discuss often-overlooked issues with teenagers. Together, we explored topics ranging from ethnic minority women, Filipina migrant workers, and the male gaze to men’s mental health, appearance anxiety, and dating anxiety. 

We firmly believe that real progress on gender equality cannot happen inside an echo chamber. Looking ahead, we will continue to start from everyday life and open conversations across different communities. Our goal is to help the public truly understand intersectionality, ensuring that the seeds of change take firm root in our society.
