Weaving Joy with Heart: The Story Behind Our Christmas Party

“May everyone learn to love themselves more.”

“May we all be safe. If it is too hard to feel happy right now, safety is enough.”

At our Christmas party, Teen’s Key girls wrote their wishes for the year ahead. Celebrating Christmas together is a highlight of our year—an annual moment to give thanks, look back on what we have learned, and look forward with hope.

Behind the laughter were the thoughtful efforts of our interns and the Young Mothers’ Club leaders. In the weeks before the party, our three interns worked hard on planning—carefully choosing food and gifts within budget—and counted down the days with excitement. “Picking gifts was so fun. I kept imagining how happy I would be to receive them myself,” one shared. Alongside the joy, there was a little nervousness too. “We will see the participants’ reactions in real time, so we are a bit anxious about whether the food and gifts will suit their tastes.”

Our Young Mothers’ Club leaders also dedicated much heart to designing the games. “Last year we did classic group activities, so this year we wanted something different,” they said. “We added mini-games into live-action role-playing games for a fresh experience.” As everyone left with smiles, their pre-party worries melted away: “Seeing everyone enjoy themselves made us happy too.”

With two Christmas gatherings wrapped up beautifully, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Tim & Tim Limited and Bath & Body Works Hong Kong for gifting Christmas presents to Teen’s Key girls—adding warmth and joy to the season.
