Sharing Frontline Experiences: Addressing the Lack of Support for Young Women in the Sex Industry

”Adolescent sexual health“ has always been a key focus for frontline youth workers. In February 2025, Teen‘s Key participated in the Chill Talk Lab organized by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service, where we had the opportunity to share our experiences regarding ”intervention work with young women in the sex industry.“

Nowadays, there’s a serious lack of support services for young women in the sex industry in Hong Kong. When they face issues like STIs or unplanned pregnancies, it can feel like there’s nowhere to turn. At Teen’s Key, we understand their needs and are dedicated to providing a safe, non-judgmental space for them.

With limited sex education in Hong Kong and a lack of knowledge among teens, discussions about sex workers and STIs are often stigmatized. We’re working to gradually adjust our approaches and support services to challenge these deep-rooted social and cultural norms. We hope that these topics will no longer be considered taboo!
