【Support Teen’s Key Emergency Fund & Educational Bursary】 “You Are Not Trapped”: Building a Safe Space with Mimi and Teen’s Key

According to the World Health Organization, nearly one in three women globally face physical or sexual violence. Furthermore, the United Nations recently reported a devastating eighty-seven percent increase in conflict-related sexual violence.

“As a woman, I feel that the world today deeply needs safe spaces to help those in need,” says Mimi, a dedicated supporter of Teen’s Key.

Turning her attention closer to home, Mimi’s heart went straight to the young women at Teen’s Key. Our service data reveals a worrying trend: rising rates of sexually transmitted diseases among college students. Too many face sexual health crises, yet local sexuality education remains stagnant.

To address these overlooked challenges, Mimi chose to celebrate her birthday by asking friends to donate to the Teen’s Key Emergency Fund & Educational Bursary instead of buying gifts. “I wanted to use this special occasion to gather everyone’s strength and pass on a message that truly matters,” she explains.

Everyone Deserves the Right to Choose

Seeing these young girls reminds Mimi of her younger self, knowing how easily young people make decisions they later regret when feeling lost. “In those moments, what you need most is someone to stand by you and say, ‘You are not trapped on a single path. You have choices.'” She deeply believes that Teen’s Key serves as that vital guiding voice.
