Teen’s Key 2nd Public Health Fair: Girls’ Autonomy Journey

“Time to join us in unraveling gender myths!”

In a society where discussions about sex and intimate relationships can often be met with judgment and conservative attitudes prevail, Teen’s Key took a bold step forward to challenge these norms. From April 20 to 21, we hosted our highly anticipated 2nd Public Health Fair at our venue partner, Eaton HK.

With over 200 teen participants, the Teen’s Key 2nd Public Health Fair featured engaging LiveTalk sessions and interactive games led by our sex education team, guest speakers including Dr. Tong Ling, the Honorary Secretary of the Hong Kong Medical Association, and Dr. Charleen Cheung, Associate Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Queen Mary Hospital. Institutional partners, such as Dr. Sonia Wong, the lecturer of the Gender Studies Programme at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and GSC (Hong Kong Secondary Schools Gender Studies Club), along with community partners, provided accurate sexual health information. The event created a relaxed environment with interactive game booths and on-site medical support from doctors pursuing their Master of Public Health at Hong Kong University, encouraging conversations to debunk taboos.

Trained sex edu teen ambassadors played a vital role in facilitating discussions and guiding participants through games that challenged gender myths. Teen’s Key is proud to have created a progressive platform, empowering youth with knowledge and promoting open dialogue. Together, we have made a significant impact in dismantling the stigma surrounding sexuality and paving the way for a more inclusive and informed society.
